MY CURRENT SKINCARE OBSESSIONS

MY CURRENT SKINCARE OBSESSIONS

Hi there,

I hope you all had a great weekend and are excited that the snow has finally stopped falling and keeping us indoors. I am so ready for spring to get here and just to have a bit of warmth. Today I am here to tell you all about my current skincare obsessions, in my skincare routine  I told you how I was into Korean skincare and as much as I tried to reduce some of the steps, I have gone back to following all of them and I am loving how my skin feels and looks this time around. My skin is not perfect but we have to start from somewhere right? And since I can be a “product hoarder”, I rather tell you what I have been using lately before adding any additional products which I know is going to happen.

my current skincare obsessions

So what’s Korean skincare?

Well just in case you haven’t read or heard about K-beauty or K-skincare, it’s mainly a 10-step skincare routine which if followed correctly and according to your skin type, does result to beautiful healthy skin. If you want to know more about it, Soko glam explains everything perfectly and will help you understand it even more, also I’ve been loving watching Gothamista on Youtube and getting really great product suggestions. Okay so let’s get into what I’ve been loving lately.

MY CURRENT SKINCARE OBSESSIONS

1. POND’S COLD CREAM

This is a product that I had been seeing for a while and never really thought I needed it until I got to try it and I have been using it everyday and it’s a keeper. I use it for the oil cleansing step and to remove my makeup which does the job perfectly without irritating the skin or being too harsh. This cream leaves your skin feeling moisturised and makeup free and will definitely be repurchasing plus it’s really gentle on the skin and great for sensitive skin which I do have.

2. SIMPLE EXFOLIATING FACE WIPES

This has kinda been my shortcut/lazy way I exfoliate my skin if I do forget the step when washing my face or I just know I will be in a hurry or will not have time to do it. After removing my makeup, I use this wipes to exfoliate my skin then turn the wipe to clean my skin up which I love with it having to sides one for exfoliating and one for wiping off. The best part is if I do this before washing my face, I never have to use a scrub afterwards since I would have already done the exfoliation step. These wipes may be similar to the neogen dermalogy bio peel gauze but not really sure since they will be next in my shopping list. If you have tried them before do tell me if I should give them a whirl too.

3. ETUDE HOUSE MOISTFULL COLLAGEN EMULSION

This right here has been really doing great on penetrating my skin and keeping it moisturised without being too heavy. The consistency is fairly light and not too creamy but sort of a watery texture which I do love because I don’t like having thick layers on my skin, nobody wants to be a grease ball at any point in time. Plus anything that’s going to increase my skin’s elasticity and reduce any appearance of fine lines, I’m all for it. Do try it out and I know you will love it.

4. ETUDE HOUSE MOISTFULL COLLAGEN SLEEPING PACK

If you haven’t heard about sleeping packs, where have you been? This has been life changing for my skin. To be honest, I was skeptical when I first got this because I had seen many reviews on sleeping packs and how you would wake up with soft supple skin. But before we get ahead of ourselves, this sleeping pack will not transform your skin the first time you use it if your skin was bad to begin with, I had to fix my skin’s hydration issues first then after a week of being consistent, my skin finally started responding well and feels really great when I wake up. Also you don’t have to use it everyday and it’s not like it’s mandatory. I use it three times a week and is working great.

5. GARNIER SKINACTIVE 3 IN 1 CHARCOAL BLACKHEAD MASK WASH SCRUB

Oh wow that’s a mouthful, this right here kinda mislead me at first since I mainly got it to use it as a facial wash and if you’re anything like me, I need some foam to at least make me think it’s actually washing my face. But after noticing it didn’t have any, I stuck to using it as a face mask which is really great. I never really used it as a scrub because just washing it off makes you scrub a bit which beats the point of calling it a scrub if you using it as a mask is going to still make you scrub it off,  my opinion anyway. Other than that, I have been using it consistently and has really kept pesky blackheads at bay.

6. GARNIER ULTIMATE BLENDS BODY BUTTER

Clearly Garnier has been treating me well lately, but I can’t fault it. This body butter is so good and has saved my skin this winter, it also has a hand cream which I use every night but didn’t want to put it here to be overkill on the products. Love the honey scent which isn’t too strong and leaves my skin feeling so soft and supple I sometimes think it’s not my skin like seriously, really worth it. If you’re looking for some silky smooth skin this winter, do try this out and tell me what you think because you will be impressed.

So that’s it, those are my current beauty obsessions and until I decide to add more products, I will be sticking to my routine because if ain’t broke why fix it right? But just to be honest, I am getting my skin essence this week which is a step I am missing. Anyway enough about my skin, what are you loving this month, what’s in your wish list? Do tell me in the comments below and until next time, see you.

  21. what a cool line of products. i love trying new products on my skin and seeing what works and what doesnt.

  22. The facial wipes are the best invention! I get a bit lazy in the evenings, so when I am feeling less than motivated I used the facial wipe in bed while my “shows” are on to get the day’s gunk off my face.

I need to look into the collagen sleeping mask. Hmm…

  23. I will definitely be looking into products number 1 & 6 you mentioned. In your first paragraph talking about the warm weather finally, could you believe that in Jersey today we had snow ?! On April 30! We are hoping spring will come here to us soon too lol!

  24. I do like the simple wipes as well. I have the version with micelar water and I do use them every day before going to bed. They leave my face clean and soft.

  28. My skincare routine isn’t very expansive. It’s just cleaning morning and evening my face with some micellar water. I love Garnier as brand but mainly for their hair care product and that micellar water. Haven’t tried any of the products listed there though

  29. I do not use any beauty products, but its nice for share with my other friends

  36. I love exfoliating face wipes. After working all day, they make my skin feel fresh and clean and I use them on a daily basis.

  37. I’ve never heard of K-beauty or K-skincare, but I’m not sure I can handle a 10-step skincare routine! I loved all of your picks and think I can incorporate at least a few into my 3 step routine 🙂

  38. I use the Ponds cold cream too as my oil cleaning step! I love the stuff. I use it to take off sunscreen also. I haven’t used many Etude House items but I need to look into them. They seem to be a popular k-beauty brand!

  39. Oh I’m so happy to learn about this! My friend who recently moved from Korea swears by these products, too! Thanks for sharing! Now I have to try them out….

  40. I must admit that I don’t take much care of my skin. However, I’ve been thinking of buying Garnier Charcoal Blackhead Mask Wash Scrub, as I love everything that contains charcoal. 🙂

  45. I love the brands, Tony Moly and Etude House. They offer great lines of brow liners and lip tints.

  46. Pond’s Cold Cream is my go-to make up remover. I’ve been using it for almost a decade now. It’s really effetive in removing make ups, even the waterproof ones. 🙂

  49. I’m due for new skin care products. Maybe I will give these a try. They sound amazing.

  50. I have tried a few products from Simple but not those exfoliating wipes! I will have to look out for them.

  51. You should also try the famous korean aloe vera gel or snail gel. Its a multi purpose gel 🙂

  52. Glad you are taking the steps to keep your skin healthy and happy. I try very hard to keep it simple. First and foremost, I keep hydrated on the inside. I don’t generally wear makeup. I am natural beauty person. I cleanse with various cleansers depending on the season. I have rosacea, I have to be very careful not to flair. I use my Foreo to gently exfoliate, then a serum. Usually that is enough. If I am out during the day…well everyday. Using Babo Botanicals clear facial SPF sunblock keeps me from the UV rays. This product does not irritate and acts like a moisturizer also. I mask depending on the season one to three times per week depending on how my skin feels. Fortunately, since I am lucky. I don’t have black heads, but I do get some congestion to the follicles so the Foreo takes care of that for me. That’s my skin routine. Thanks for sharing yours.

  53. I will for the Garnier scrub. So far, among the Garnier products I have used, I have liked them all. This might be good for me. 😀
