MY SPICY BEANS ON TOAST RECIPE

my spicy beans on toast recipe

I did not grow up having beans on toast every day, but when we had it, Kenylon beans were the ones I remember and  were my best choice. I used to really love the tomato sauce in it, not too sweet but just right. That was until my sister decided to change it and I have been doing it this way ever since. The best part about this recipe is that you can get the ingredients anywhere and its very quick and easy to prepare if you don’t count chopping onions as a chore, then your sorted.This is my spicy beans on toast recipe, you will need;

  • 1 or 2 of your favourite can of beans (depending on the number of people)
  • Spring onions (five is fine)
  • Olive oil
  • Salt
  • Cumin
  • Garam Masala
  • Garlic powder or a clove of garlic
  • A thumb of ginger
  • Coriander(optional)
  • Hot sauce(optional)

Method;

  • In a saucepan, pour some olive oil and put on medium heat. Meanwhile
  • Chop the onions finely and open up the can of beans, then crush the garlic and ginger.
  • Put the onions in the pan and stir lightly taking care not to burn them, add in the garlic and ginger and add some salt to taste.
  • Keep stirring for a minute then put a teaspoon of cumin, and garam masala and continue stirring.
  • Pour in the can of beans now and let it simmer for two to three minutes this is the time to chop some coriander.
  • Take it out of the fire and put the coriander and stir it once more, you can put some dashes of hot sauce now or at the table.
  • Serve and enjoy,have it with toast or a bun if you like.spicy beans on toast recipe
