How I got here

Blogging is something that I have always wanted to do and it stayed on my mind for quite some time before deciding to just go for it. I read so many posts on how to do it and kept on seeing find a particular niche you will be writing about. Honestly, I love so many things that to focus on only one would be selfish of me, plus just cause I like cooking doesn’t mean everything I make constitutes a recipe.

So here I am writing my first post and freaking out but in a good way. Have you ever known something that you get so excited and can’t wait to share it with someone and all you have is butterflies in your stomach? Well, that’s what I mean when I say freaking out in a good way.

About me

I am Joan, a wife, mother, Youtuber and lover of all things that make me happy. I am originally from Kenya, lived in Croatia for four years then moved to the UK with my family. As I start my blogging journey, am going to enjoy every good and bad because it’s something I would love to do. This blog will be all about my love of food, and beauty, some blogging tips, lifestyle, and a bit of parenting here and there also if I do get to travel which I am planning to, I will share my travels with you.

I am going to be as honest and true to myself as I can be. Thank you for stopping by and I am very excited to see where this journey will take me, so here we go…….

HOW TO DECLUTTER YOUR HOME

HOW TO DECLUTTER YOUR HOME

As much as I like being organised, there are moments where it gets out of hand and I end up going back to square one and restarting all over again. Most of the time it’s because I haven’t decluttered for a while and that goes wrong real quick and doing it after a while does help to feel that you’re getting a hand on what’s in your home. Plus once you remove all the clutter, it does feel good and makes your home cleaner and your life much more easier. That’s why today, I am here to tell you how to declutter your home.

1. ANALYSE

The first thing you need to do is analyse what you have around your house, go into each room see what you have and know which room to start with. If you were organised before and you just declutter once in a while, then you probably already know what’s in every room. I showed you a while back how I get organised and how it has made my life so much better. Once you’ve perused through each room, we now get into the nitty gritty and here are questions you will have to answer in the process.

HONEY GARLIC KIELBASA SAUSAGE BITES

Am I the only one who is fascinated when it comes to mukbangs? Some are quite horrific to watch but others just make you feel hungry or wish for a large stomach capacity. I still don’t understand how one is able to eat such large amounts of food without gagging at the end. Anyway, talking about mukbangs, that’s how I ended up with this recipe right here, after watching people on my feed eating kielbasa sausages for like a week in a row, I had to get myself some and try it out. Needless to say, it was not the whole feast but just a tiny version of what could be. Today’s recipe is some honey garlic kielbasa sausage bites. For the recipe, you will need;

HOW TO MAKE TRADITIONAL FLAPJACKS

Breakfast on the go

What comes to mind when you hear “Breakfast on the go” for me, it’s either sandwiches, a cereal bar, or maybe a smoothie. For a long time, I used to call anything made from oats an oat bar, it doesn’t matter to me, if it has oats it’s just an oat bar to me. Then I heard about flap jacks which I call granola bars now and I think will I stick to that because it just doesn’t matter. So today I have for you this recipe on how to make traditional flapjacks. For the ingredients you will need;

SWEET & TANGY OVEN-BAKED SPATCHCOCK CHICKEN

Hello Everyone,

I think I can actually agree that I eat too much chicken at this point and need to start venturing out to other meats. Today is all about this scrumptious sweet & tangy oven-baked spatchcock chicken recipe. Very simple and comes out so juicy. The best part is the oven does everything for you and all you have to do is make the sauce, coat and back to the oven it goes. First things first, let’s talk about the prepping of the chicken.

How To Spatchcock A Chicken

  • Take your chicken and place it upside down on your cutting board.
  • The main thing is to cut off the backbone starting from the neck upwards to the tail.
  • You can use kitchen scissors or my go-to a sharp kitchen knife.
  • Once the backbone is out, turn it right side up and gently press the breast bones gently to flatten it out.
  • That’s it and you have a spatchcocked chicken.
