Another week calls for another post and this one you will love, it’s a recipe to die for. This past weekend, I woke up craving pork and better yet it had to be ribs. The fact the weather decided to just go crazy and do snow one minute, then icy rain the next didn’t really help to brighten my day but I knew that good food would totally do the trick and so ribs it was with a side of coleslaw. After finishing my grocery shopping which I had to go twice since I forgot that Tesco opened at 10 on Sundays and not 8, I finally came back home and was ready to start the dry rub for my ribs, so before I bore you with my weekend shenanigans, I will just go ahead and share with you my oven-baked dry rubbed bbq pork ribs. You will need;
I hope you all had a lovely weekend, today I decided to be more open and at least tell you some things that you might not know about me and also for you to just be able to know me more. They might not be totally random but you may know some of them from my previous posts or not, so anyway here are some random facts about me.
Finally, I get to write the first post of the year. I know It’s kinda late but it’s all good so long as I do it right? Anyway where are my manners, happy new year to you all and I hope you’re all having a great start to it. Last year, I wrote a post on reasons why I don’t stay to read your blog and as much as it did really well, I also got some backlash from other readers who thought it wasn’t fair and that I was on the wrong. One may think that it would stop me from continue writing but as I wrote on that particular post, they were all my opinions and that I knew some would disagree with me and it was also totally okay if that happened, today’s post is the opposite. Here is why I read your blog.
I was asked by some of my readers what I would like to see in other blogs and what would make me stay to read them too. So these are my answers and yes people, once again I know that this might not be everyone’s cup of tea but that’s just perfect. We are all entitled to our own opinions, don’t come for me. So what exactly would be in your blog that would make me stay and read it without exiting in seconds?
1. SIMPLE LAYOUT
We all know that we shouldn’t judge a book by it’s cover but I tend to do that sometimes, it’s human nature. When it comes to a blog’s layout, it should be easy to follow and just simple. I know we all all want the most professional looking website but that can sometimes hurt your blog if you’re trying to include too many things from slides, to movable images just let it be. I will read your blog if I’m able to find something easily and fast, from your categories to your blog posts. If I can get to your about page without having to pass through other categories then I’m happy. Make your layout to be simple and easy to manoeuvre without someone having to stress about where to find your comment section or the pin it button.
Hello everyone, I hope you all had a great Christmas and are ready for the new year. I know some of you may still be recovering from the Christmas mood but as for me I’m already looking at the new year so I decided to come on here with the last post of 2017 and just have some few last words before getting ready for 2018. Apart from wishing you all the best in 2018, we have to remind ourselves that whether this year was a good or bad one, we at least survived it and are lucky to be able to reach this point and pray for a better new year to come.
So Christmas is upon us and as much as I’d like to say I’ve done everything, there are still some last minute stuff to do plus I haven’t even wrapped presents since I have to find a way to hide them, without the little one thinking that it’s time open them already. Anyway I’ll think about that later this week but before I let you all go off and enjoy your Christmas celebrations, I decided to come on here and share with you a recipe I know you would really love and if you need something to make last minute, these gingerbread cupcakes are just the thing.
I still remember the day I was installing wordpress and had totally no idea what I was doing( oh the memories) but I’m happy to say that after one year of lots of writing and learning along the way, I managed to keep at it. So yes people Jocajic.com turned one last week and I had to write a post to tell you how everything was and most of all the lessons I’ve learnt in one year blogging. I’m going to try and make this post not to be too long and just be straight to the point, so let’s get right into it.
1. CONTENT IS KEY
I know you’ve heard about this a lot but I’m sorry to tell you that it’s true. If you want to gain traffic and more readers, your content has to be good enough to make someone stay and read your blog and also want to come back for more, my other post here has more on that do check it out. So make sure you write content that you would want to read and gain something from at the end of it all.
I learnt this the hard way by being late to the promotion party all detailed here. In order for your blog to do well, you need to be able to network with other bloggers by use of social media and joining groups. It may sound as the simplest thing to do but you also have to figure out what kind of groups are right for you and are along your niche. By you doing that, you not only get traffic but you end up learning so much more from other bloggers out there just like you by asking for help where necessary that will help you in your blogging journey. I have been able to join great groups all through Facebook, Pinterest and Tailwind tribes which have really helped me immensely.
Hello Lovely People,
I hope you are all doing great and are ready for the festive season, I can’t believe Christmas is right around the corner and I still have to figure out exactly when I’m going to put up my tree I know I’m a bit late but before I do that, I decided to come on here today and share with you all a lovely recipe. All you’ll need is some time and you’re good to go, here is what you need to make this delicious scrumptious honey, garlic & ginger chicken.
I hope you all had a lovely weekend, so last week on my other post I gave you guys gift ideas for her and told you that I would be back with another one only this time, it would be for the men in your life. Plus the best part is you get a chance to win a product from Kurtis Paul who if you haven’t heard about them have beautifully crafted bags and accessories for men which you could choose to keep or even gift it for someone special which is a great idea. So without further ado, here are some gift guide ideas for him.
It’s been a while since I gave you guys a recipe and decided why not? After all I do love my food. This week I got to make my simple, fast and delicious sandwiches. The best part about them is that you can totally add whatever toppings you want to them depending on your preference and you will end up with something good. I usually love using white bread for them but brown works well too. Here is what you need for these open faced tomato & mozzarella sandwiches.
Can you believe it?
It’s almost that time of the year again and we all know what that means, it’s time to start figuring out when to put up that tree, what will be on your menu, will you be hosting or attending and when you should start doing your gift shopping. Usually, I try dropping hints here and there and hope for the best which has never really worked out and will be changing my strategy this year, but if you run out of time and have no idea what you could get for the special woman/women in your life, here is a great list on some holiday gift guide ideas for her and I hope you like them as much as I do.
